Get To Know Our Family Run Farm

Our family decided to start Fibonacci Farms because we were having a hard time finding good quality food at the stores. I became a meticulous label reader and what we had available to us wasn’t what we wanted to feed our family. At the time my husband was running his construction company (Fibonacci Construction) and we had a two year old and a newborn so we weren’t sure if we could jump into farming. After years of mulling it over we decided to give it a go. My husband bought all the Rhode Island Red egg laying hens that the store had left. 27 to be exact! We started with a brooder in the house and he built a coop for when they were older. Our daughter named a lot of them and swore she could tell them apart even though most of them were identical. We loved raising the hens and collecting the eggs so much that we knew we wanted to work towards having a family farm. Fast forward to 2022 when we bought a small farm in Metamora, Illinois and Fibonacci Farms became a reality.
